There is nothing like a heart attack to give you a wake up call! Saturday morning started off simply enough, then Gary came in to get a pepcid because he thought he was having indigestion. Then he took a shower and had alka seltzer. Then he said: "Please get dressed and take me into the ER!"
Tests and an angioplasty later, we discovered that he had had a heart attack. Yesterday we were released and he slept most of the afternoon but a pain and pressure in his chest got worse. About 9 p.m. we headed back to the ER. Gary has pericarditis, inflammation of the pericardium, the lining of the heart. Often patients will get this after a heart attack. So we will see how this goes!
I am so grateful to have him alive, grateful for modern medicine, grateful for doctors, stents and plavix, grateful for my children and family. Grateful for miracles and prayers, blessings and neighbours.

Oh no. You have been on my mind a lot lately, this must be why.
Are things going better? Please let me know if there is anything I can do! You will all be in our prayers.
